My friend and former colleague, Samantha Warren, spoke on Web Typography and engaged the crowd to “challenge yourself rather than focus on the limitations of the medium”. I stumbled upon it on dooce and have become somewhat obsessed ever since. It is modular carpet tile, so you can create your own rugs in any style or size you want. Besides the fact it is totally practical, they offer so many beautiful patterns and textures, you’re bound to find one that suits your personal taste. Also, the samples are cheap, so you can test out a bunch before committing…in the past two months, I have ordered about 20 - I figure I’ll make use of all these samples for a mat in the garage or for our future dog:) I always struggle to find a rug I love and now I can just create my own!
